This impressive sculpture of a boy riding a large feline came from a mythological inspiration. The child, in perfect balance and harmony with the animal, gathers lost souls to free them. The glowing figure is cast in alpaca (an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc, also known as nickel silver) and the feline is cast in silicon bronze with a black patina. The animal's original was carved from wood and the artist has preserved the rich wood texture in the bronze cast. Seen here during a sculpture exhibition at the picturesque Chapelle St Antoine, Brittany, and at the exhibition Emergence in Pont l'Eveque, Normandy, both in France. Last photo by Manuel Guillon.
