Sculpturesite Gallery is pleased to announce the release of the latest video in the series Inside the Sculptor’s Studio, featuring sculptor Christopher Curtis at work in his two Vermont studios. Curtis gave Brigitte Micmacker and John Denning, owners of Sculpturesite Gallery, an exclusive look into his intriguing creative process when they recently interviewed him and watched him create one of his fascinating Puzzle Stones. Watch this exciting short video now!
A sculptor for over forty years, Christopher Curtis’s works reflect his passion for stone, and his persistent interest in using science and technology for the creation of sculpture. His unusual approach to stone sculpture has helped redefine the boundaries of this ancient art. Often using stones as objects, not just material, Curtis carves natural stones and boulders employing traditional techniques as well as innovative methods. At a time when anthropogenic effects on nature are newsworthy, Curtis's emphasis on stones as the archetypal symbols of nature together with modern techniques and machines is especially pertinent.
