Sculpturesite Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of recent works by the preeminent Chilean sculptor Pilar Ovalle.

Ovalle's wood sculptures begin with fragments of discarded wood, formed and textured by the elements, which she collects during her walks on the shore of lakes deep in the woods of the Ayilemu Mountain region of Chile. She then merges these century-old treasures with pieces of discarded sawn lumber with utmost care. The result is a fascinating dialogue between old and new, organic and dimensional, polished and textured, spiritual and physical.

Ms Ovalle will be showing four large suspended boats, two nine foot tall free-standing sculptures, one significant wall hung work and several pedestal sized pieces in her upcoming solo exhibition at Sculpturesite Gallery.
