Taught as dogma in art classes, the theory that the three primary colors (blue - yellow- red) are basic and cannot be mixed from other colors has been the foundation of color wheel mixing for centuries. With the advent of light science and computer technology, two other sets of "primary colors" emerged: additive primaries (blue, red and green) and the now ubiquitous CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) used for computer generated printing. In this exhibit we explore the resonance in the powerful dynamic interplay between blue, yellow and red when used on the surfaces of sculpture.
