Sculpturesite Gallery presents Reflections, a solo exhibition of glass sculpture by Pamina Traylor, currently Adjunct Professor at the California College of the Arts in Oakland, CA, where she chaired the Glass Program in 1999-2000. In the fall of 2007, Traylor was invited to be a visiting faculty member of the Osaka University of Art, and she created the works in this exhibition in reaction to that experience. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 21st, from 5:30 to 7:30.

In Reflections, Traylor delves into her perceptions of the contemporary Japanese environments she enjoyed exploring on foot during her stay in a small town near Osaka. “Being of Japanese descent, I took this opportunity to explore my cultural heritage and experience Japanese culture firsthand,” says Traylor. “I was impressed by the integral role nature and the seasons play in Japanese life.”
