Jerry Ross Barrish is essentially a storyteller. He has built hundreds of sculptures using plastic scrap material reconstituted into figures and animals. Their poses and gestures create highly emotive narratives. Most recently, Barrish has carefully selected a few of these assemblages that he felt would maintain the spirit and soul of the original works to cast in bronze.

Jerry Ross Barrish, a native San Franciscan, received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the SFAI, then spent over a decade producing films before turning to sculpture in the late 1980’s. His works are included in permanent museum collections including the Berkeley Art Museum, Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento and the San Jose Museum of Art. A catalogue of the bronze works is available.
