This sculpture was created in response to the ocean surface and the observable, and not so observable, nature below that surface. Underneath the water, there are sea anemones and water flowers that are soft and elegant but strong and capable of defending and feeding themselves. The sculpture allows for an interior inside of the flower form which is contained by an implied volume.
