Titanium arms and stainless steel riser.
The kinetic sculpture Mikoshi gently swirls and swivels on its base to alternate between creating whole and split circles in space. Occasionally and momentarily, all elements come together to create the Taoist yin/yang symbol.
The yin/yang represents the concept of the inter-connected, inter-dependent nature of opposing forces in the natural world, each giving rise to the other in turn.
Mikoshi embodies the very essence of the yin and yang through time, as they are created together in a single movement and are bound together as parts of a mutual whole.
